Because Gyrotonic equipment is highly adjustable, it can be customised to fit each persons unique physique, and ability, adapting for things such as height, arm and leg length and physical ability.
Adaptable
The Gyrotonic method is practiced by people from all walks of life, including accomplished athletes and dancers, college students, baby boomers, senior citizens, and people with disabilities.
Queenstown's home of GYROTONIC® training.
Gyrotonic training is an exercise format developed by Juliu Horvath, a Romanian born swimmer, gymnast, and ballet dancer. Horvath tore his Achilles tendon and ruptured several vertebrae while on tour with the Houston Ballet in the 1970s. The injuries ended his dance career but the rehabilitation techniques he developed, combining his expertise in yoga, dance, Pilates and gymnastics, with some innovative mechanical experimentation led him to found “the Gyrotonic Expansion System”.
